About the Role
Goodwin is seeking a motivated, reliable, and customer-focused Relief Maintenance Officer (This is a full-time role) to join our Property Team.
This unique full-time role provides maintenance support across Goodwin's Retirement Living Villages, Residential Care Facilities, and corporate properties. Working across multiple sites, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents, clients, visitors, and staff enjoy safe, compliant, well-maintained, and welcoming environments.
Reporting to the General Manager Property, you will provide flexible maintenance coverage during staff leave, vacancies, peak workload periods, and property projects across Goodwin's portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing maintenance support and relief coverage across multiple Goodwin sites
Undertaking reactive and planned maintenance activities
Completing minor repairs, general building maintenance, and property upkeep
Supporting planned maintenance programs, capital works, and improvement projects
Coordinating and monitoring contractors to ensure quality, safety, and compliance standards are met
Conducting property inspections and identifying maintenance, safety, or presentation issues
Managing maintenance requests through Goodwin's maintenance management system
Assisting with grounds maintenance, cleaning, waste management, and general site presentation
Supporting emergency maintenance responses and business continuity activities
Building positive relationships with residents, staff, contractors, and site management
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Experience in property maintenance, repairs, building services, or a related field
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
The ability to work independently and effectively manage competing priorities
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Intermediate computer skills and confidence using maintenance systems
A flexible and adaptable approach to working across different locations and environments
A commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement
A current unrestricted driver's licence
A First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain one
Desirable Experience
We would also value:
Trade qualifications or experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, or general maintenance
Experience in aged care, retirement living, healthcare, or community-based environments
Experience coordinating contractors and supporting maintenance projects
